First of all, Happy New Year to you! 🎉

As first news of this year, we would like to let you know that the “Road Protection” functionality for main roads was removed from Map Creator at the end of December 2018.

Therefore, you won’t see the “Protected Roads” button displayed anymore on the task bar at the bottom right.

This means that users are now able to adjust main road geometry or even add a new roundabout on a main road – something that wasnt possible previously.

As with lower class roads you can adjust geometry by clicking a node or a shape point with your mouse and then moving it to the correct position.

When moving a mouse over a node or shape point the cursor becomes a cross, which means that you are able to move that geometry.

Of course, all edits on main roads, regardless of the user level, attribute change or geometry change, are moderated one by one. Only if the change is endorsed/confirmed by a HERE expert (moderator) will the edit be integrated into the HERE Core Map.
