Road Closures: A New Feature in Map Creator

Recently a new attribute category has been added to Map Creator: Road Closures.

Using this new feature enables you to enter information to indicate that a road segment is currently closed, for example due to construction activities.  This data will be directed to  our HERE Live Traffic team to display in navigation systems with HERE maps and on wego.here.com where roads are closed and cannot be used for actual routing.

Please fill in the closure period (start/end), the affected direction of travel and give a reason for the closure (if possible please provide a URL as a source to aid verification).

To see if a road is already indicated as closed please use the new layer “Road Closure Report” in the layer menu (top right) and zoom into the map.  By hovering over the construction icon with the mouse you see the closed street segment.  By clicking on the icon you see the closure details.

Update 14/11:

Now you can view the update directly in Map Creator.  After adding a closure simply refresh the map by pressing the F5 key and ensure the traffic layer is still activated.

The image below shows how your report will appear after submitting it in Map Creator.  The situation will be represented this way until it is integrated in the Traffic System HERE WeGo.here.com on the traffic layer.

After sending a report, the information is no longer visible in the “Road Closure” field,  (since this is a reporting function only) this indicates that the report has already been sent to the Traffic Team.
